We’ve had a lot of voters asking us about our position on Palestine, because understandably, it’s a hot topic.
Here’s what we believe.
Our party has consistently condemned all violations of international law, including the war crimes committed by both Hamas on October 7 and the Israeli military’s disproportionate response, which has killed thousands of Palestinians, displaced millions, and pushed Gaza to the brink of famine. We stand with the UN’s call for an immediate ceasefire and the release of all hostages.
Australia must do more
While the Australian government’s vote for a ceasefire at the UN was a step forward, it is not enough.
Australia has failed to support South Africa’s ICJ case against Israel for genocide — a moral and legal failing.
We urge the government to:
Publicly endorse the ICJ case and demand that Israel suspend military operations.
Impose sanctions on officials responsible for war crimes and freeze defence exports to Israel.
Push for accountability by backing ICC investigations and supporting Palestinian self-determination.
Our Commitment
We will continue to:
Challenge Australia’s complicity in this conflict, including secretive arms deals.
Amplify Palestinian voices and defend the right to protest and advocate.
Demand that political leaders act, not civilians pay the price for decades of failed policies.
The May 3 federal election is a referendum on justice. We will keep fighting for a future where Palestinians and Israelis live in peace, free from oppression.
